Norm Balchunas has joined the Elevate team as Senior Vice President and Government Practice Director. Norm is responsible for business development, capture and professional services.
Norm has 33 years of operational and management experience, including leadership across USAF/Joint conventional/nuclear operations and policy formulation, electronic warfare technology/application, cybersecurity research, business development, financial management, requirements development and program/organizational management. He skillfully builds bridges across industry, government, and academia with talent for motivating personnel, change management and time critical problem solving.
His broad operational/technical credentials include leadership capability demonstrated at every level: Academic Director, Not for Profit Association Director, commanded across squadron/ Group/Major Joint Command Headquarters. He successfully managed up to 2,000 personnel and budgets over $128 million in diverse national and international environments including executive roles as Chief Operating Officer, Squadron Commander, Program Manager, Test Director, Joint Staff Officer, and various Board of Director positions.
Norm holds a current clearance (May 2014)
His background includes:
- Chief Operating Officer; Translational Research Lab, Cybersecurity Institute director, Business Development Executive, Drexel University,
- Director of Operations, Association of Old Crows. Directed military trade association courses, conferences and government affairs programs. Integrated academia, industry, services, government in electronic warfare, cybersecurity and information ops
- United States Air Force Colonel (retired)
- Commanded worldwide programs, combat aviation squadrons, aircraft acquisition and development units, character development education.
